David Lomas is Professor of Art History at the University of Manchester. He directs the Centre for the Study of Surrealism and Its Legacies. His publications on Surrealism include The Haunted Self (2000) and Simulating the Marvellous (2012). He cocurated the exhibitions Subversive Spaces (2009) and Narcissus Reflected (2011). The entwinement of botany and sexuality in Surrealist and Contemporary Art is the subject of a new monograph.
