Helmut Zander has been Professor of Religious Studies in the Faculty for Catholic Theology at the Université de Fribourg since 2011. He is currently working on the characteristics of the development of religion in Europe from a comparative perspective. A further major research focus is the history of Western esotericism, in particular anthroposophy in Germany.
