The seminar explores and debates the present and future developments in this challenging region.

The revolutions in the Arab world might change the political systems. At the same time it will also have an effect on the financial situation in the region. The prediction was that the economy in several countries in the Middle East would be likely to grow significantly in the coming years. Some experts talked about the Middle East as the next BRIC.

How does the current political development affect the financial prospect of this region? What will be the long term consequences? How should Europe respond to its neighbors? What are the biggest challenges to sustainable economic development in these countries?
